LIFE IN PRASAT CHAR VILLAGE 

Imagine not being able to go to school because you can’t afford it and have to stay at home to work on the farm, or look after your younger siblings.

Imagine not being able to get medicine or medical care when you are sick.

Imagine having no toilet, bathroom or kitchen.

Imagine living in a hut no bigger than the average bathroom with no furniture whatsoever.

Imagine never having electricity or running water.

Imagine having to eat ants, crickets, frogs, spiders and other insects to survive.

Imagine sleeping on bamboo slats with just a woven mat, no mattress, pillow or blanket.

Imagine riding your bike 30kms to work on a construction site and only getting paid two dollar a day.

Imagine if over 2/3’s of the adults in your community couldn’t read and write at all.

Imagine never owning a toy and only having one torn pair of shorts and a torn shirt to wear.

Imagine worrying how you are going to find your next meal.

Imagine nursing both of your parents as they die of HIV when you are only a small child.

Imagine trying to shelter from the monsoon rain when the roof of your hut has many holes in it.
